Shannon joined Ewald Consulting in 1999 and currently serves as Vice President of Meeting and Event Management, and Professional Development. Shannon has expertise in project management, strategic planning and board relations. Over the years she has served as the lead account executive for several Ewald Consulting clients. Shannon’s career includes experience as the committee administrator for the Transportation and Transit Committee in the Minnesota House of Representatives and acting as a Family Services Specialist for the Head Start program. Shannon holds a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and graduated with a dual major in political science and sociology. She earned her Master’s in Public Policy from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota and in 2005 she achieved the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.

What you don't know about Shannon...

Q. What do you love about association management?
A. I love thinking strategically with my board on how to improve the association for their members and industry.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. I love St. Paul – its neighborhoods, ethnic restaurants, Capitol building and laid-back vibe.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. Hang out with my family and do fun, active things like bike, run, play tennis, hike and ski.

Q. What is something most people don’t know about you?
A. Rootbeer milk is my favorite non-alcoholic drink.


Vicki Thein

Vicki has over twelve years of meeting planning experience with eight of those years focusing on continuing medical education. She received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation through the Events Industry Council in 2008 and is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Vicki graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Public Relations. She also completed the Event Management certificate program from the University of San Diego/The George Washington University.

What you don't know about Vicki...

Q. What do you love about your job?
A. One of the aspects that I love most about event management is the variety of people that I get to work and interact with in order to make a client’s vision a reality. I enjoy organizing complex details, problem solving, and the overall project management of events. The best thing about this job is to see the team’s hard work come to fruition onsite at a successful event.

Q. What is something most people don't know about you?
A. I served in the United States Air Force in the Minnesota Air National Guard while attending college. I come from a military family with my dad serving in the Marine Corps and retiring with the Air Force, my sister and her husband are retired Navy pilots now flying privately and commercially, and my brother is currently serving as a flight instructor for the Army.

Q. What is your favorite restaurant or food?
A. Mexican food! Living in San Diego for 13 years introduced me to the best Mexican food and it quickly became my favorite.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. Duluth, MN – of all the places I’ve lived and traveled, Duluth has always been my favorite city. Sitting in Canal Park feeding the birds popcorn and watching the ships come in is still one of my most favorite places to be; it never gets old.


Briana Baker

Briana has 6 years of experience in the event industry and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Events from UW-Stout. She has a diverse background in personal and professional events, planning and operating. She has travelled to over 50 cities and 15 countries operating corporate meetings, conferences, and incentive programs. She is passionate about creating a positive experience for all event attendees and staying organized and forward thinking to ensure a successful event.

Q. What do you love about your job?
A. I love connecting and working with different groups and parties to complete a common goal. Using my experience and knowledge in the event industry to positively affect the event outcome and satisfaction of a client is something that fulfills me.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. My favorite city is Venice, Italy!

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. When I am not working I enjoy seeing live music! I’ve been to over 500 concerts and have a passion for the live music experience

A. I have a sweet tooth and love pastries, my favorite local spot is Bread & Chocolate which features a raspberry cream cheese croissant that is to die for!


Amanda Beneke

Amanda brings more than eight years of event planning experience to Ewald Consulting. She thrives on creating and delivering outstanding events for her clients. Her work at Ewald includes leading and executing the event planning process for clients on the local, national and international levels. Amanda also has her B.A. in Communication from the University of Minnesota – Duluth.

Q. What do you love about your job?
A. Each day and each event brings new challenges, perspectives and triumphs. I appreciate the variety of clients and industries I get to work with and enjoy learning something new from each one.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my Fiancé and dog, exploring new restaurants, running and spending as much time outside as possible!

Sarah Ewald

Sarah began working with Ewald Consulting in 2013 as part of the Professional Development team. Since then she has served as part of the Finance and Accounting team, the Business Development and Sales team and currently as an Event Manager. In this role Sarah is able to leverage her deep knowledge of Ewald Consulting and its clients in order to implement outstanding events. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota.

What you don't know about Sarah...

Q: What is your favorite city?
A: My favorite city is Lutsen. My family has been going there every summer and winter for as long as I can remember. One of my sisters even got married there so it has always been a special place for our family.

Q: What is something people don't know about you?
A: I was on the math team in high school and lettered in it.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant or food?
A: Any and all pizza.


Kristy Masloski

Kristy joined Ewald Consulting in 2016. She has been an event planner for nearly 20 years, working for three difference associations. She has a B.A. in Business Studies from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.

What you don't know about Kristy...

Q. What is the best professional advice you ever received?
A. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. I don’t travel much, but my favorite city so far has been Sedona, AZ.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. Glamping (yes, glamping), gardening, and CrossFit

Q. What is something most people don’t know about you?
A. I am the tooth pulling queen! All of the neighborhood kids come over when they need a tooth pulled. I haven’t missed one yet!


Sarah Korus

Sarah joined Ewald Consulting as an Events Coordinator in June 2018. She previously worked for another Twin Cities association management company and has experience with non-profit in event planning, member management, and communications. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul in the spring of 2017 with a BA in International Business.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. Bariloche, Argentina!

Q. What is your favorite restaurant or food?
A. Hola Arepa on Nicollet Ave is amazing and has such a cute atmosphere.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, binging a good Netflix show, biking on Twin Cities trails, and practicing and teaching yoga.


Monica Livorsi

Monica joined the Ewald team in 2018 as an Event Coordinator. She is a recent graduate from Butler University in Indianapolis with a B.S. in Arts Administration Music, her music emphasis being voice. In her spare time Monica enjoys watching baseball with her family and running along Lake Minnetonka.

What you don't know about Monica...

Q. What is your favorite restaurant or food?
A. Patachou in Indianapolis – they are an all-natural and locally grown food breakfast place with the best coffee and incredible food! My go-to is their vegan granola with an iced green tea.

Q. What is the last book you read that you would recommend?
A. How to be a Heroine: Or what I’ve Learned from Reading Too Much by Samantha Ellis.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. I enjoy singing (classical and contemporary music) and playing piano, running, reading and watching baseball, specifically the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. Windsor in England – it is beautiful and quaint, the perfect stop for food, shopping and sight-seeing. Windsor Castle is a must see!

What you don't know about Emma...

Q. What is the last book you read that you would recommend?
A. Girl Boss, and for people who do not like reading, there is a Netflix series based on the book as well.

Q. What is your favorite city?
A. I would move back to Sydney, Australia, in a heartbeat if I could. I love the mixtures of cultures found in a large international city, plus being right by the ocean and the variety of foods that are found there are amazing. My favorite place I have visited though would be the Gili islands, specifically Trawangan, off of the coast of Indonesia. You can bike around the entire island (there is no cars) and the sunsets at night are absolutely breathtaking.

Q. What do you like to do when you are not working?
A. Hanging out with my family, showing cattle and swine, watching football, traveling, volunteering with Minnesota 4-H.

Q. What is something most people don’t know about you?
A. I only have about 70% of my hearing and when I tell people this they think they just need to talk louder but actually its different pitches/tones I can’t hear and has nothing to do with volume.
